Chinese House Church Pastor Reunites With Family After Release
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
After spending nine months in detention, Chinese house church leader Pastor Jin “Ezra” Mingri has been released and has safely reunited with his family in the United States.
The pastor arrived in Los Angeles on Friday, where he was welcomed by loved ones after a long period of uncertainty. His release has been met with gratitude by family members, friends, and many Christians around the world who had been praying for his freedom.
Pastor Jin is known for his leadership within China's house church movement, where many congregations choose to worship independently rather than under state-approved religious organizations. House churches in China have often faced increased scrutiny and legal pressure in recent years.
Supporters say Pastor Jin remained steadfast in his Christian faith throughout his detention. His safe arrival in the United States marks a joyful new chapter for his family and for those who have followed his case closely.
Religious freedom advocates continue to call for greater protection of the rights of people to worship freely and peacefully around the world. Pastor Jin's release is being celebrated as an encouraging moment while many continue praying for other believers who remain imprisoned because of their faith.
As Pastor Jin begins rebuilding his life with his family, churches across the globe are giving thanks to God for His faithfulness and remembering those who still face persecution for following Christ.
